My work reflects my surroundings. Whether that is in Kuwait where I spent nearly 30 years, or London, where I live in Camden, which is within walking distance of Regents Park, which I consider as my front garden and frequently use for inspiration. I enjoy travelling and always keep a visual diary recording my impressions through drawings, photographs and a variety of other collected material, which I use later in my work. One trip a few years ago took me to Lofoten north of the Artic circle, a boat trip to Denmark, then back to my front garden in London. Some of the work describes this journey. My many years in Kuwait, my love of landscape, seascape and colourful vegetation are a constant source of inspiration to me.
