David Cole

Cole's work looks, initially, like straightforward abstraction. However, as you look more closely, things get more complicated. Cole's printmaking and his paintings go beyond pure abstraction to explore the ambiguity of mark making. Cole was awarded Artscope's Raymond Gaughan Art Prize in 2001 for outstanding achievement in art and has gone on to exhibit and sell artwork. Written by Keith Simmonds - Artscope
